Receive and send email with Gmail

Connect one Gmail mailbox with Google sign-in. The Block syncs new inbox email and sends email you write from your own address. It asks Google for read and send access only.

What it accesses

  • Your mailbox address
  • Inbox email: sender, recipients, subject, date, a short preview, and message text
  • Sending email you write, including replies in the same thread

What it does not access

  • No attachment downloads
  • No modifying, labeling, archiving, or deleting email
  • No contacts, drafts, or settings
  • No Gmail password, app password, or token entered in The Block

Current status

  1. Open Connections and select Connect Gmail.
  2. Sign in with Google. Because The Block has not requested Google's app verification, Google shows an unverified-app notice first. Choose Advanced, then continue, and allow reading and sending email.
  3. Disconnect any time in Connections. That revokes access at Google and deletes the stored email.

Provider review and testing note

The connection requests only gmail.readonly and gmail.send. Google limits unverified apps to 100 users, and Google Workspace administrators can block unverified apps for their organization.
